Echochamber is completely free to use. We believe everyone should have access to diverse perspectives on the news.
Echochamber works with Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, and other Chromium-based browsers. Firefox and Safari support is planned for the future.
We're currently in early access and gathering feedback before submitting to the Chrome Web Store. For now, you can install it manually by downloading the zip file and following the sideloading instructions on our download page.
We use AI to analyze article content and detect political or ideological framing. The analysis considers factors like word choice, topic emphasis, and source attribution. Our goal is to help you understand how a story is being framed, not to tell you what to think.
When you click the extension, we analyze the article you're reading and use vector similarity search to find related articles covering the same story. We then prioritize showing you articles from sources with different political leanings or editorial perspectives.
We only process the article content when you actively click the extension icon. We don't track your browsing history, and we don't collect any personal data beyond what's needed to provide the service. Article analysis is done to improve recommendations, not to profile you.
This can happen for a few reasons: the article might be too new for us to have found related coverage, it might be on a niche topic with limited coverage, or the page structure might not be compatible with our content extraction. We're constantly improving our coverage and compatibility.
We'd love to hear from you! Send us an email at hello@echochamber.ai. Your feedback helps us improve the extension for everyone.
The best way to support us is to share Echochamber with friends who want to break out of their filter bubble. You can also buy us a coffee if you'd like to contribute financially.
